Fitness Model Program asked:

We know both cardio and weight training exercise are vital to building a sculpted physique, but when you are crunched for time and need to fit both into your hour at the gym, which do you choose first?

Here is the number one rule most gym-goers always break: ALWAYS DO WEIGHT TRAINING FIRST. Following are a few reasons why.

Weight training requires the most amount of energy and stamina. Therefore it is a no-brainer that you want to do the most labor intensive task first when your energy is highest and you have the most strength.

Weight training relies heavily on your glycogen stores, or stored muscle energy. You will not be able to lift as heavy or perform as many reps if you do cardio first because it will deplete some of your stored energy. And if you are not lifting to your maximum, your muscle growth will be reduced.

Most people go to the gym to lose weight. Doing weight training first is also a great way to increase fatburning. When you do weight training first, you are burning up the stored energy in your muscles. Then when you hop on the cardio machines and start increasing your heartrate, your body needs energy and starts breaking down your fatty tissue.

If you are still not convinced, do this challenge: Pick a day you normally go to the gym and do cardio first then do weight training. Now pick another day to go to the gym and do weight training first followed by cardio. Make sure you are doing the same exercises and for the same duration for both days. You should notice more energy for your weight training program when done first, and since cardio requires much less energy, you will still be able to get through your cardio session. Try it for yourself!

Everyone is busy. But considering what is at stake, making time for exercise needs to be a priority right now. Thirty minutes a day is not too much when you get right down to it. Cut one prime-time show out of your evening television-viewing schedule. Get up a half-hour earlier each morning. Use half of your lunch hour for a brisk walk. You can find time if you look hard enough for it.

In fact, there are people who find time to manage and endorse the advantages of physical fitness just so they can prove to the world what a physically fit person can look like.

It is for this reason that most people contend that fitness models are one of the healthiest and most appealing people in the world. They embody the perfect concept of a physically fit person. Fitness models are, indeed, the epitome of health, life, vigor, and real beauty.

In reality, virtually everyone who has the capability to move can exercise to some degree; and everyone who is capable of projecting the benefits of exercise and physical fitness can be a fitness model.

Therefore, if you think that you have what it takes to be a fitness model, here are some tips on how to be come one.

1. Deviate from the common notion of everybody that fitness is just a matter of the body figure.

The problem with the society today is that people tend to admire and look up to females who are thin and **** and to males have brawny, muscular biceps, triceps, and wonderful abs.

The upshot is that people tend to exert so much effort in exercise not because they want to be healthy and fit but because they want to like the fitness models that they usually see in TV, posters, and magazines.

To be a fitness model, you should start working your way to a healthier you and not just a sexier, physically attractive person that you want to be.

After all, being a fitness model does not necessarily mean you have to have a “fashion-model” body size.

2. Believe in the saying, “You are what you eat.”

If you want to be a fitness model, you have to believe on the fact that our body shows what kinds of food we eat. Your body will also depict the kind of physical activities that you have in life.

Hence, if you do not conform to this belief, chances are, you will find it hard to be a fitness model, and to inform the people what it is like to be physically fit.

3. Live a healthy lifestyle

Genes play big roles in a person’s health. But these do not certainly influence what you will eat at breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and the kind of activity that you will engage in.

Hence, if your lifestyle will not be healthy, chances are, you can never be a fitness model.

4. Have a “positive self image”

In order to be a fitness model, you have to incorporate positive body image in your life. This means that you should love your body in spite of what is happening in the environment or the occurrences in your life.

You should never wish for a body that you know it is not yours. Do not burden yourself into thinking that life could have been better if you only have thinner thighs or beautiful abs.

Through positive self-image, you are able to gain respect for yourself, which in turn generates other s to respect you and admire you.

The key point here is that, being a fitness model is not all about vanity and physical attributes alone. What matters most is the beauty of being physically fit and healthy that radiates from your body as it exudes the glow of health.

When it comes to fitness modeling, most people think it’s simply a matter of being in shape. If you have got muscles, you can be a fitness model. The fact is a fitness modeling career involves more than being in shape. It requires a knowledge of posing techniques, as well as hard work, dedication, and more.

Of course, while the body is not the only aspect of fitness modeling, without an exceptionally fine tuned body, you won’t get anywhere in the industry. The fitness model’s physique must be well defined and in perfect proportion. This will require a dedication that not many have and will involve many hours working out in the gym, as well as following a healthy, but strict.

Knowing your look and studying it is also a factor in being a fitness model. A fitness model should spend time in front of the mirror to study their look. They should know what their face looks like when making a certain expression or feeling a certain emotion. While the body may be the main focus of many shots, the wrong ****** expression can ruin a shot.

The mirror should also be the place where the fitness model practices her poses. Knowing all of the required bodybuilding poses is a definite plus in the business and they should be able to do these poses without any explanation needed. The fitness model should practice their posing techniques daily, as well as take the time to learn and practice new techniques.

Another important factor in becoming a successful fitness model is to know the lingo of the trade. When you are asked to show up to a open call and to bring your camp card, if you don’t know what this means, you are not going to get the job for this photo shoot. Anybody interested in becoming a fitness model should study the modeling industry’s lingo to make sure they are aware of what is being asked of them and they will be prepared to go to any casting.

If one has not had any modeling training, they should sign up to attend classes at a modeling school, this may give you an advantage over others that have not. A modeling school can teach an individual how to walk, as well as how to dress and pose. However, before enrolling in any modeling school be sure the school is affiliated with an agency that has a great reputation. You will also want to check with the Better Business Bureau to see if they have had any complaints against them.

When an individual is pursuing a career in fitness modeling, it is very important they find an agency to represent them. Again, they will want to do thorough research before signing with any agency. Find out if they deal with fitness modeling regularly and if possible, try to get represented by an agency that has done previous work with well-known fitness models.

Perhaps the most important factor in determining one’s success in the fitness modeling industry is dedication. When setting out to begin a career in fitness modeling, an individual must not give up for any reason. The fact is the successful fitness model will be turned down for jobs, regardless of how in shape they are. It simply may be a fact they don’t fit the part the client is going for. Developing a thick skin is necessary in the world of fitness modeling.

The truth is there is no one secret to becoming a fitness model, there are many factors that will influence how well one does. However, by committing oneself to hard work and fully educating themselves in the industry, one will stand a much better chance of becoming a successful fitness model.

No matter what age you may be, no matter what your body shape, you can become a fitness model. Even if you have a disability you can be a fitness model. Being a fitness model is different from being a fashion model.

Being a fitness model is not about matching up to a stereotype. You may be pear shaped, tall or short. It really doesn’t matter. What matters is fitness and your attitude to your body.

If you have had to overcome difficulties to achieve a better level of fitness then you make an even better fitness model. There is no question of absolute standards.

Fashion models tend to be unnaturally slim for their height. Many of them are unhealthily underweight. They set a standard that is not a good one to follow. The immage of the fashion model often persuades young women and girls that they need to diet obsessively in order to lose weight. A fitness model should not go down that route.

Fashion models look like that because they make the clothes look better. If they have no curves the clothes hang smoothly. They look like that because of their genes. They are chosen for their unusual shape.

But being a fitness model is about accepting your real body shape not about selling clothes. If you want to be a fitness model you should put impossible stereotypes out of your mind.

No matter whether you are a man or a woman you should learn to accept your own body shape. Obviously fitness training will improve it but it will not make your legs longer. Set an example by rejecting the ideal of unnatural slimness.

Men have another false body image forced upon them. They are encouraged to go for perfect abdominal muscles and bulging biceps. But there is no need to look like a body builder to be a fitness model. Many men have light frames and will never achieve the body builder look.

Unfortunately some men are tempted to resort to artificial aids such as steriods in body building. This is very harmful to their health and is entirely contrary to the behaviour of a genuine health model.

So the place to begin becoming a fitness model is by making an realistic assessment of your own body form. If you want to be a fitness model and encourage others to follow a healthy lifestyle you must be happy in your own skin.

Your fitness regime will then be directed towards improving your natural body shape not towards attaining an unrealistic goal. You should set yourelf attainable goals for improved cardiovascular function, resistance work and endurance.

There is no need to work out for longer than half an hour a day. Your whole life does not have to revolve around training as a fitness model. You have to ask yourself fit for what? You are aiming to be fit for life. There is no point being a fitness model if you do not have any life apart from training. Remember that there is life outside the gym.

As a fitness model you must also pay attention to your diet. This does not mean starving yourself. It means eating for optimum nutrition. Then your skin will be clear, your hair shiny and eyes bright. You will positively glow with health. This is how a fitness model should look.

There is no point being able to say that you are the ideal weight for your height if you look washed out and ill. The way to avoid this is by eating properly. Make a careful study of your nutritional requirements. Learn which foods contain what vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Food is about more than calories.

Eating nutritious food should not be a miserable business. A real health model must have a positive attitude to food. Eating healthily is not meant to be a punishment.

Finally, a health model takes a positive attitude to other people and encourages them to feel good about their own bodies. We all need a supportive network of people around us to be healthy and a health model should set the example in helping others to be healthy.
